No. They open a link (or scan a QR code on their badge) in their phone’s web browser and the app loads instantly. No App Store, no Google Play. iPhones and Androids can both save it to the home screen like a regular app if they want, but it works the same either way.

Mostly. Schedule, speaker bios, session details, and venue maps stay on the phone after they’re viewed once, so they keep working without signal. Notifications, live polls, and networking features need a connection (same as any event app).
