How we got here
Started in medical software. Ended up running events in Hawaii.
Before there was a Digit-L, there were training sessions. In 2012, Leighton, our founder, started running on-site meetings and trainings for medical software clients on the mainland. Small at first. Over the years they grew into the MacPractice User Conference, hundreds of attendees across medical, dental, chiropractic, and optical practices.
A move to Hawaii and a stint working for the state turned up the same pattern. Local nonprofits, education programs, and private firms had real event needs, and the generic, off-the-shelf tools just didn’t fit. Digit-L Concepts started as a web-design studio to handle the digital side. Digit-L Conferences grew out of that to handle the rest.
Across two coasts and two companies, the through-line is the same: close the gaps. Brand, registration, app, on-site team. All running together. You focus on the people in the room. We handle everything else.

Why Hawaii matters
An event in Hawaii is not the same as an event anywhere else.
Hawaii has its own rhythm. How invitations are extended, how welcomes are offered, who speaks first, what gets blessed before it begins. Mainland event playbooks miss this. We’ve been embedded long enough to know what to honor and how to build it into your event without it feeling performative.
Practically, this also means we know the venues, the vendors, the print shops, the AV crews. We don’t fly in. We live here. Your event runs on local infrastructure with local relationships, and your attendees feel the difference.
